Foehn
Heavy Foehn-winds has hit Chamonix! Hard winds have been pounding on our doors for several days and we now pray that today is the "la grande final"; because today all lifts are close due to the heavy wind.
Even the little chair lift called Planard downtown in Chamonix centre is closed, they report 70 km/h wind gusts. It's a typical day when you are supposed to stay indoors. And it doesn't make anything better knowing that the Chamonix area seems to be the only spot in the Alps where it's not snowing for the moment. We got wind instead of powder...
I will not be around to see the end of it, I'm leaving for the ISPO-faire in Münich early tomorrow morning. Hopefully everything will be back to ordinary when I get back to Chamonix on Wednesday night.
